Our next meeting will take place in Catalonia in March. Ninth grade students Andraž Svetelj and Luka Puconja will present our school and our work within the project.

What is active citizenship?

Active citizenship is not just about political participation, participation in elections, referendums or monitoring political events. It is much more than that, it is the wider active action of all citizens in various public areas of society, for the general social benefit. The essence of active citizenship is that we have the opportunity to participate in decision-making or influence decisions made in a democratic social space, and in doing so we co-shape and influence public topics that affect different target groups. Active citizenship means co-creating society and public topics at the local, national and international levels. Consequently, we strengthen democratic action and ensure the inclusion of individuals in society.
